Each log is coded to match the exact log shown on the supplied plans. The log-coding system alleviates any confusion as to which log gets used during each phase of the log home assembly. Log Home Construction

Below you can see a typical foundation and configuration for the first log courses found in a log home plan. (Foundation materials, including lally columns, are supplied by others.)

After establishing the placement of the foundation and securing the initial log courses, subsequent log courses are stacked and spiked every three feet using the factory supplied spikes and pre-drilled holes prepared in the logs. As each log is stacked, a self-adhesive weather-stripping is applied to the tongue of each log to prevent air and water infiltration.

As logs courses are applied using the log home plan, wiring can be pulled between the log courses for eventual connection to outlets and electrical circuits. Electrical outlet and switch box preparations are pre-mortised at the factory to increase the ease of establishing electrical connections.
