When a cabin gets added to our production schedule, the log specifications designed by the engineering department for each log of the cabin kit are uploaded from the engineering department to the "notcher's" logic. The "notcher's" intelligence computes the data received and in combination with the in-line indexing designed into the station-to-station processses, minimizes the waste of each log passing through the notcher.
The "notcher" is one of many technologies used by Conestoga to minimize waste and improve energy efficiencies. What would require multiple pieces of equipment and individual energy sources, Conestoga is accomplishing with one streamlined system. It is business investments like the "notcher" that contribute responsible "Green" approaches to the "Green" efforts.
